Get blogging, mate! OR send me a long email and I will post it on my own blog as the first ever gandhi "Guest blog"...

Better yet, post it here and I will copy it in full, so BOTH my regular readers will see it (/sarcasm).

You know you want to do it!

Hey Bukko,

Got sidelined recently due to a pinched nerve in my right arm which has rendered my right hand useless, so I haven't been typing/writing much lately. This is the latest thing I wrote on any sort on economics, and it's been cross-posted here as well. I've got an expanded version of it somewhere but I can't track it down. Be sure to check out the video at the bottom of the post.

What Do YOU Owe China?

One of the downsides to living in and on the treadmill that was the San Francisco Bay Area's Silicon Valley in the mid-late 1990s, and in the early Naughty-Aughties, of this new century was the sense one would have, even as one was closing their eyes at night to go to sleep, was that the meter was always running.

I'm here to report that, well, I kind of underestimated that number.

Out of curiosity the other day, I asked myself, out of the US Treasury Debt of $1.3 trillion dollars, what was my part in it? Given that the current Chinese population is now at 1.3 billion people, it was pretty easy to figure out that it works out to that each person in China has currently lent The United States of America $1,000.00 a piece.

Here's the thing about loans... People expect them to be repaid, so the question now is, how much do I, and each one of my 300 million fellow American citizens, need to come up with to retire that $1.3 trillion dollar debt?

It comes out to $4,333.33, per each American.

Now that's a solid, non-yielding, inelastic number that's on top of whatever one is already paying for their mortgage/rent, food, gas, utility bills, credit card bills, etc, etc...

Don't know about any of you, but I've never done real hot financially, and certainly never to the point where I had a spare $4,500.00 dollars to throw at a problem like this, and frankly, I don't know too many people that do.
Maybe that's why the guy in this movie is laughing:

Hello Bukko,

Thanks for visiting my blog. I am glad you escaped the insanity. If I ever meant to make my escape I was thinking a sailboat to an island southeast of Australia. I probably will stay here though, I have no kids and I am ornery enough and adaptable enough to ride out the storm. They will have to haul me out toes up someday I'm sure. Best of luck in the land down under.

Thank you for your kind words. I am going to keep them, and no, I will not return them under any circumstance.

I hear that it's a world of wonder down under. Is that a sexual thing?

Bukko, you were my favorite visiter yesterday. Remember, it was Old Folks Boggie and Willin day at my place. Did leave you a nice and rather grasping response, and I rolled you in the alley and you didn't even notice! Ha! I getting god at rolling men with out their knowing--kind of like a pick pocket.

Bukko, saw your comment on Politits that you are a former Yooper, so I thought I'd drop by and say hello from one Yooper to another.

Thanks for the kind words, but how the hell did I get blog comments on here? I didn't do anything to set this up. There's a reason why this is called "I don't have a blog." It's because I don't WANT to have a one. Everybody's a blogger. Somebody's got to be a commenter. That's me.

I don't have a blog either.
The blog I don't have is in Victoria, where I have no fixed address.
Come over and admire all the nothing!

I can sympathize with wanting to comment. It seems to be where the action is - at least for anyone who doesn't expect enough traffic to keep oneself amused.
You know what's nuts ? I blog fairly regularly - and don't think I have any more action than you do.
But - frequenting newshawk sites and quipping as part of a community is a whole nother experience.

prairie2.com here, you leave a lot of interesting comments on my blog. The swine flu doesn't seem to be going anywhere, but flu doesn't normally spread in warm weather. A bit scary that this started in Mexico (never cold there), even if it peters out, it may come back in the fall. Good Luck
